Constructability Review & Pre construction Services

AFP is often asked to assess the accuracy and completeness of construction plans and specifications and to validate schedules and budgets. A constructability review looks for document inconsistencies and completeness, potential liability, coordination issues, and missed details, among others. It also identifies and eliminates ambiguities and contract language that contribute to unnecessary construction change orders, disputes, and adversarial relationships between the contractor, owner, designer, and project stakeholders.

Change Order Management

Resolving change order situations early minimizes your costs and avoids contractor and project schedule disruptions. PMA has extensive experience developing and managing the change order process for owners, contractors, and subcontractors on multimillion dollar projects and includes labour rate compliance, change order metrics, and contract entitlement.

PROJECT RISK MANAGEMENT

An effective project management plan maximizes value within established cost and time allowances. While typical components of project management—scope management, change management, cost/schedule controls—are effective individually, a continuous, integrated risk management process is essential for successful project execution. AFP risk management specialists identify and evaluate project risks, manage risk registers, facilitate qualitative risk assessments, conduct quantitative risk analyses, and develop risk mitigation strategies and plans. We develop qualitative risk assessments in conjunction with project stakeholders; integrate those assessments into robust, quantitative cost and schedule risk analyses; and monitor and mitigate any risks accordingly.

GREEN BUILDING

Building green cost effectively requires solutions that address relationships between the whole building and its surroundings. This approach requires extensive preplanning, a thorough understanding of the relationships between building systems, and significant collaboration among design and construction specialists. We implement a customized approach on green building projects to deeply integrate environmental performance objectives into a program as early as possible.
